2 Executive Powers The oath of office demonstrates the President’s resolve to upholding the Constitution. The President also makes sure that the laws are faithfully executed. The President also interprets the laws.

3 Ordinance Power The President has the power to issue executive orders which have the effect of laws. The ordinance power is the power to issue executive orders.

4 Appointment Power The President has the power to name top-ranking officers of the Federal Government. The President nominates someone and the Senate must approve with a majority. Federal officials in States are usually left up to the Senator who is in power from that State.

5 Removal Power The President can remove anyone he appointed without Senate approval except for Supreme Court Justices. Most times the people resign instead of being removed.
