Our chapter Vision involves doing 3 things really well. Providing resources for the growing professional, serving those in need in Hampton Roads, and Building a community we all want to be a part of.
Things we’ve done together in the last year include:
-monthly luncheons with Army/Navy/AF/CG (earn about 10 CPE’s/yr),
-Spring PDT, joint with AGA/ASMC, 16 CPE’s in 2 days
-Scholarships for High School Seniors ($5K)
-Community Service: school supplies for students in need, be an angel to homeless, dine out to fight breast cancer, breast cancer walk, thanksgiving for the homeless, salvation army Christmas stockings, peanut butter food bank drive, March of dimes, homeless bag lunch
-Monthly newsletter with local education opportunities, community service events, and other opportunities for chapter members.

17. The Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) Program
ASMC offers the Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) educational program and certification designation to those persons desiring to demonstrate proficiency in the core aspects of defense financial management.
The CDFM is one of the DoD-approved Test-Based Certifications recommended for Certification Levels 2 and 3 of the DoD FM Certification Program (Enrollment in CDFM program is $40. Non-member price is $75.)
Program training textbooks, enrollment, and recertification discounts for members.

20. CDFM Eligibility
The CDFM program is open to all candidates who meet one of the following qualifications:
•An Associate’s degree or higher + 2 years of defense-related (or 4 years of Federal Government-related) FM experience
•A high school diploma (or equivalent) + 3 years of defense-related FM experience

21. Steps to CDFM Certification
Enroll in the CDFM Program ($40 for members/$75 for non-members).
Purchase and Schedule the CDFM examinations ($99/exam).
Submit Verification of Financial Management Experience (VFME) form.
4. All individuals earning the CDFM designation must:
Adhere to the ASMC Pledge of Professionalism to retain their credential.
Recertify their CDFM every 24 months.

22. How do you become a Member?

Membership fee: $40/yr, or $96 for 3 years.
