1 eCV Replacement Susan Hallmark
Thank you Dr. Burge, hi to all, I’m here to talk about the planned replacement for eCV. Most of you know me as that darn eCV person you call when all else fails <smile> My team supports the eCV product along with a host of other general administrative systems including document imaging and the knowledge center. Let me tell you a little about what we’ve been working on for you… Susan Hallmark

2 Activities Working Group identified CV like products and narrowed to 4 to evaluate further Selected eTalus as the recommended eCV replacement Provides the most comprehensive level of data collection categories All current data converts to new application Fully customizable to meet faculty and accreditation requirements Familiar user interface Publication import functionality with alerts No vendor licensing, maintenance and support costs Conduct testing prior to Cutover If interested in participating please send name to David Felsing at Recently we’ve teamed up with a working group of faculty and administrators to determine an eCV replacement. This group identified CV-like products and narrowed down the list to four to evaluate further. Volunteer testers from schools and research communities conducted an evaluation of the interface and data entry screens. We also looked at other factors such as architecture, reporting, data categories, maintenance, and of course costs. The group selected eTalus as the recommended eCV replacement as it meets our critical requirements as listed on this slide and in your handout. We’ve tested the upgrade of eCV to eTalus in our test environment and now it is time to refine our timeline (though it is still too early to predict go-live). We’ll be developing a test plan and testing scenarios, a communications plan, and a training plan. We’ll get eTalus ready for testing and today we are asking for volunteers to help test the new product. If you are interested in participating please send your name to our project manager David Felsing at (or just send a note to We’ll conduct training before the final cutover to eTalus. Now for a little teaser, here’s just a preview of what you’ll see:

3 Preview First you’ll see the interface is much clearer and provides a better layout. Note the menu items across the top of the display instead of down the side. One of the best advantages of eTalus is the ability to authenticate with your UTHSCSA Domain ID and password – no more separate eCV Username/Password! We will be able to specifically assign admin support for you (you can choose who will access and update your CV – the admin support uses their own UTHSCSA ID to sign in). We’ll be able to convert all current data so your data will be in tact! A great technical feature will be the ability to provide future customizations in-house (we won’t have to wait on a vendor). Please let us know if you are interested in volunteering for the test group – contact any of us for more information: our project manager David Felsing, myself or the eCV administrator. Thank you for your time.
