  I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for letting me be your child’s teacher this year. This is going to be such an exciting year and I cannot wait to get started! My name is Jill Mason and I am your child’s fifth grade teacher for this year. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
My husband and I just moved here from upstate New York (near Albany) and we are both teachers. I grew up visiting Atlantic Beach each summer and fell in love with this area. It has been an exciting transition for us! I attended The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York and graduated in 2000, with a major in elementary education and a minor in psychology. I received a master’s degree the following year as a Reading Specialist. I have been a Reading Specialist for the past few years . This is my first time teaching 5th grade I strongly believe reading is the foundation for all learning.
I absolutely love teaching and could not imagine myself doing anything else! It is truly my passion!
