In New York State, there is a five-cent deposit on all carbonated beverage cans and bottles. When you return the empty can or bottle, you get the five cents back.

3 OBJECTIVE(S): I will be able to use my knowledge of multiplication and division to complete a table So that I can use variables to write expressions involving MULTIPLICATION and DIVISION from real-world problems, and evaluate these expressions when given the value of the variable. I will know I got it when I can successfully complete 3 out of the 4 stations with at least 80% accuracy. 6.E.E.A B.6

4 Language Objective By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the language domains of reading and writing to communicate the academic math language of exponents and patterns. They will verbally communicate and write expressions with multiplication and division and evaluate the expression when given the value for the variables. They will show their understanding when they verbally communicate the proper vocabulary and properly write the solutions for 3 out of 4 stations with 80% accuracy. Academic Math Language Vocabulary: variable, expression, evaluate
