Q: Why is ATP useful to cells?
A: ATP can easily release & store energy by breaking and re-forming the bonds between its phosphate groups. This characteristic of ATP makes it exceptionally useful as a basic energy source for all cells.

2. Chemical Energy and ATP
Adenosine triphosphate (ATP)
Storing Energy(ADP like partially charged battery)
Releasing Energy-breaking off the phosphate group
Used in: active transport, protein synthesis
