MA: 2 members from Media School and 1 from other (or all 3 from Media school)
PhD: 3 members from Media School and 1 from minor

PhD: Program of Study and Quals
DEADLINE: 15 April to nominate your committee

3. PhD Program of Study
Deadline for filing approved program of study: 15 October of 3rd semester
Total Requirements
You can transfer up to 30 credits from MA
Need 90 credits to graduate
Need 75 credits to take quals
Course Breakdowns
3 core classes: Theory, Methods, Pedagogy
12-15 credits within minor
6-12 research skills (courses your committee deems research skills)
4 semesters of M600
Max: 6 credits of independent study
Post Quals Credits
Max: 15 credits of Dissertation MSCH-M 899
After 90 credits, enroll G901 (6 credits with flat fee of $150)
Max: 6 semesters

4. MA Program of Study Deadline: Before start of 3rd semester

Max: 6 credits of Independent Study
Thesis (6 credits maximum) or comprehensive exam

5. Submitting your PoS How it works….
Need list of all courses you will take and plan for which semester
Need statement of rationale for your program of study
Schedule PoS defense date
Defend Pos and have committee members sign off
Submit to school (only internal)
