Graduate Program Requirements 36 units of approved coursework (trivial, 3 quarters at 12 units) Ph.D.: At least one class in all five areas of MS&E is recommended -Foundations of MS&E -Materials Structure -Materials Characterization or Simulation -Functional Materials -Materials Synthesis or Processing Materials Science & Engineering Program

8. Ph.D. Program Preliminary Exam Five written tests (1 hrs), one in each area. I will ask the instructor of your class in each area for the exam The exam will be collocated with the EE exam. Materials Science & Engineering Program
