2. What is it? It was a Short Stay School, no longer in use.
Identified poor attendance and high anxiety as key concerns.
Needed to rebrand.
Empower staff.
Make students feel safe.
Three points to the strategy.
Have an area for PA (below 80%) attendees to start to reintegrate.
Have a group who are highly anxious.
Capture the wanderers.

3. What is the impact?
10 PA key students access the LSC currently. 4 year 7’s who were school refusers in Year 6, 50% now in full time main stream lessons.
10 key highly anxious students ranging from Year 11 to Year 7 students. 100% access the LSC. Some improve attendance by over 21% % attending more lessons.
Timetables lessons with structured learning as well as bespoke programmes on mental well being.

4. What the students say….
I would have failed Year 11 if I couldn’t come here…. Why wouldn’t I want to come here? Someone actually listens to me. I hate school so I don’t come but I will come here…. This is ok, sometimes I hate it when they say we have to try to go back in to lessons…
