13 Roles and Responsibilities
13

14 District committees and resource chairs exist for two reasons:
First, to advocate the area of interest among clubs that may either not understand it or see how it fits into their club's service mission. Secondly, to help those interested or already active in an area to create successful projects or improve upon projects already in existence. For example, a club may have no literacy projects. The district literacy resource chair may awaken that interest, and then may help the club create a classroom reading project, a literacy tutoring relationship or a Money Smart program for GED students, or another literacy project that meets the community's needs. 14

15 Expectations of District Committee Chairs
Be a Coach – Advise clubs on how to plan and execute successfully Be a Club Communicator: Periodic phone call or meeting to follow up Promote submission of District Newsletter articles Be seen - Attend major district events, including All Club Conference and other training and fellowship events as necessary Participate periodically in Monthly AG/DG Conference calls – First Tuesday of month, 5-6pm Familiarize yourself with RC Central & DACdb 15

16 Help Clubs Achieve Success
Get to know your counterpart in the clubs Help clubs assess their strengths and weaknesses, and provide guidance to those that are facing challenges Work with your district trainer to develop a training plan for clubs with specific needs. Your DG and AGs can refer you to clubs that need your committee’s support. Since you can’t visit every club, consider a webinar or conference call with clubs 16
