5 PREVENT Part of the UK Counter Terrorism Strategy 2015
It is about reducing or eliminating the risk of individuals becoming involved in terrorism Pursue: stopping terrorist attacks Protect: strengthen our protection against terrorist attacks Prepare: preparing for the impact of a terrorist attack Prevent: stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism ECC has a duty to talk to all students about the meaning of PREVENT, radicalisation and extremism and how we can support those that might be vulnerable to it.

6 Radicalisation and Extremism
What is radicalisation? A process whereby someone has their vulnerabilities exploited toward crime or terrorism, most often by a third party with their own agenda What is extremism? Extremist beliefs are those which directly contravene values fundamental to British culture and society.

If you are concerned about another person imposing their beliefs on another person or group or you are worried about a change in someone's behaviour speak to your tutor or contact the safeguarding team

11 Safeguarding Keeping yourself and others safe!
If you are concerned about your own, or someone else’s safety or wellbeing, you can tell any member of staff or contact the Safeguarding team yourself. Learning Services are here to help you with study skills and resources The college shop stocks stationary from basic to specialist art and maths equipment at competitive prices

18 Smoking At ECC we do not encourage smoking, however we do have smoking shelters for you if you wish to smoke. Vaping and smoking is permitted outside 5 metres away from a public building Student Wellbeing are available for advice and support if you wish to stop smoking
