India Additional Comments on
EPPR – 28-05

Comment-1: Annex-4 Appendix-1 Symbols Coefficient of aerodynamic function: N/(km/h)2 : This should be superscript EPPR secretariat to check the symbols for superscript and subscript in relation to terms Comment-2: Figure A4.App12/5: Title of the figure has to be changed “WMTC for vehicles with a maximum design vehicle speed of 45km/h and 25km/h low engine displacement or maximum net or continuous rated power” Legend has to be changed For red colour line: Vehicle class km/h limit. For blue colour line: Vehicle class km/h limit. Figure A4.App12/6:

Comment-3: Table A4.App12/25 “WMTC. part 1. class applicable for vehicles with a maximum design vehicle speed (25 km/h) and a low engine displacement (< 50 cm3). cold or warm. 0 to 180 s” Comment-4: Table A4.App12/29 “WMTC. part 1. class applicable for vehicles with a maximum design vehicle speed (where applicable truncated at 45 km/h. respectively at 50 km/h) and a low engine displacement (< 50 cm3). cold or warm. 0 to 180 s

Comment-5: Annex-1: Clause no : The chassis dynamometer may be set by the use of the running resistance table instead of the running resistance force obtained by the coast-down method. In this table method, the chassis dynamometer shall be set by the mass in running order reference mass (mref) regardless of particular vehicle characteristics. Justification: To set the chassis dynamometer by using the running resistance table we need to use reference mass from where we can get equivalent inertia and rolling resistance coefficients from Table A4/App 4/1 of Appendix 4 of Annex 4. In this clause instead of reference mass the term used is mass in running order, which is not appropriate to follow the procedure as per appendix 4 of Annex 4. Hence this modification is proposed. Comment-6: Annex 4 - Appendix 9 Clause no 2.1.1: Mass in running order Unladen mass (mk): Kg Clause no Distribution of mass in running order Unladen mass (mk) between the axles: kg Justification: To use the defined term of unladen mass. To declare the vehicle characteristics as mentioned in Appendix 9 of Annex 4.

Comment-7: Annex-1: Clause no : The equivalent inertia mass mi for the chassis dynamometer shall be the flywheel equivalent inertia mass, mfi, closest to the sum of the mass in running order Unladen mass (mk) of the vehicle, and the mass of the driver (75 kg). Alternatively, the equivalent inertia mass mi can be derived from Appendix 4 to Annex 4. Justification: To set the equivalent inertia as per Appendix 4 of Annex 4 we need to use reference mass, which is the sum of unladen mass and mass of the driver.
