Field trip: Our Milburn field trip is all set for October 26th. Permission slips will go home at the end of the week. If you would like to be the chaperone, please fill out the chaperone form. The form was included in the September 24th “Happening from the Hill” sent by Mrs. Brady.
October 4th is the McPrincipal’s Night (4-7pm)
No school on Friday, teacher PD day.

10/1/18 Thank you to everyone who cmade it to our presentation at the open house. We appreciate the time you took to find out more about your child’s school life.
Congratulations to our third habit hero - Amirah.
We played sight word Bingo Friday. This is a game you can play at home. Write sight words onto a blank bingo board. Put the sight words into a hat and pull the words out one by one. Check to see if your child knows the word and can find the match on the board. Sight words so far: a, am, and, can, funny, go, I, see, the.

What Are We Learning
Reading -
Next week (September 24) We will review the letters A - S. Students need to identify the letter and the sound. New letters will be T, U, V and W. We will identify characteristics and sort into categories.
Writing - We will practice printing names and letters and word wall words. Journal writing using sounds that can be heard.

Social Studies: We will discuss what behaviors make for good character.
Math Bridge: Calendar numbers.Order of numbers. Counting
READING AT HOME
Reading with your child at home is the most impactful activity that you can do. Make it fun. Ask them what words or letters they already know. If you are willing to highlight the words they already know, it makes for a great visual for seeing growth as a reader.
