4 Introduce your CDs! For instance, in the book Road Home, the main character struggles with addiction and aims to find a way out. To illustrate, in the short story “Hannah’s Grace,” the main character is faced with the challenge of taking care of her disabled brother. To demonstrate, in the movie Peter’s Memory, the main character must remember every little detail surrounding his brother’s disappearance.

6 Be precise and purposeful in the revision process
Be precise and purposeful in the revision process. Bring me your edited draft when you are done and you have shown evidence of revision (highlights, steps followed on revising and editing checklist, and scratched out items replaced with better ideas). You should take out sentences, add other sentences, add commas (sentence variety), etc. Do NOT bring me an essay that is half-way revised. I’ll simply give it back to you and ask you to finish. When you are truly finished, bring it to me, and I’ll hand you the final copy and writer’s reflection sheet. This is a MAJOR GRADE.
