2. Career and College Promise Session Law - SL2011-0145
The purpose of Career and College Promise is to offer structured opportunities for qualified high school students to dually enroll in community college courses that provide pathways that lead to a certificate, diploma, or degree as well as provide entry-level job skills.

3. Three Types of CCP Pathways/Programs
College Transfer (CTP) – College transfer pathways provide tuition-free course credits toward the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science that will transfer seamlessly to any public or participating private college or university.
Career and Technical Education (CTE) – Earn tuition-free course credits at an NC Community College toward a job credential, certificate or diploma in a technical career.
Cooperative Innovative High Schools (CIHS) – Begin earning tuition-free college credits as a high-school student by attending an approved Cooperative Innovative High School. (example: early colleges)

4. CCP Operating Procedures Update
CCP Operating Procedure update was approved by State Board on Oct. 30, 2015.
Policies included in the update are effective immediately.
Program of study updates for CTE pathways are effective for POS submitted for Spring 2016.

5. Recent CCP Updates Topics included in the update: CTE pathway
Update provided to clarify eligibility and emphasizes the need for the student to receive information covering all pathway requirements
Option for traditional local certificate added (no course pick lists allowed for any pathway)
Additional CTE pathways for 9th and 10th graders added
new pathway options include (1) Transportation Systems Technologies and (2) Agriculture and Natural Resources Technologies
Graduation information
Update provided to clarify graduation requirements and specification for when credential can be awarded

Added clarification for coding CCP students (and steps to code them out once they are no longer eligible for CCP)
Added clarification for tuition and fees and ISAs
Update provided to clarify math course options in the transfer pathways which will permit students to enroll in additional math courses
