3 U-PASS Aims Address the Topic 3 “Urban public administration and services innovation” in the call To design and analyse innovative service and policy innovations for achieving sustainable urban transport by studying short-run behavioural impacts through real-life experimental studies; long-run implications through advanced urban transport modelling approaches. The project thus aims to offer innovations in the design of new services and policies in urban transport; in the set-up of new types of experiments; in the development and integration of new types of models.

4 U-PASS Visions Develop new models and perform innovative experiments in order to provide insight into the questions of: How to develop the public sector innovation and management approaches to accelerate transitions and foster innovation capacity of cities and urban areas towards sustainable urban transportation, both from the short-run and long-run perspective? How to device integrated models and planning approaches for the management and organization of urban transport to tackle disparities in and between cities and urban areas? Which institutional development/innovation may accelerate sustainable urban transportation?

5 U-PASS Visions To provide robust insights, not critically dependent on one methodology or modelling approach, has led to the project set-up represented in the below table. We focus on a number of selected innovative services and policies that have in common that they are currently considered or applied in China and Europe alike, for the management and organization of urban transportation, and jointly provide a rather wide set of innovations covering both behavioural and technological interventions.
