3 Traditional Energy – Not an Option
Nowadays, around 85% of world’s energy is produced by traditional sources. Although these seem very efficient, they present two serious problems: they are non-renewable, which means they will be eshausted sooner or later, and most of them pollute the environment. Firstly we are going to talk about WHY we need renweable energy in our lives.

4 Traditional Energy = Exhaustible Energy
Current estimates show that in less than 200 years our most used energy resources will be completely exausted. That means we have to find alternative ways to generate energy: alternative resources. Resource Years untill exhaustion Oil 33 Natural Gases 54 Coal 194 Uranium

5 The Tauron Water Plant One of the institutions that are providing renewable energy under the form water energy is.....

6 2.History Turawa lake was established on the river mała panew, which is the right tributary of the oder river. It is a retention reservoir of 24 km².

7                  The reservoir was built in the years to allow the regulation of the water level on the odra river. For this purpose, the towns of zamost, krzyślina, łuk and pustków were closed.  For this purpose, the towns of zamost, krzyślina, łuk and pustków were closed.  In total, several dozen families were repatriated who received financial compensation or replacement homes in ligota turawska.

8 3. About the plant The Dam is 30 m high and 6 km long
The energy is produced by 2 turbines The intake pipes are 10 m beneath the lake surface The tunnels for the pipes were bulit by germans in 3 days and 3 nights and needed so much gravel that they had to create another 3 lakes

9 What is hydropower? Hydroelectric power, also known as hydroelectric energy or simply hydroelectricity is power derived from the energy of falling water or fast running water, which may be harnessed for useful purposes.

10 4.Advantages and Disadvantages
We all know that hydroelectricity is both renewable and green, but what are the other advantages this technology offer? Are there any disadvantages?

11 Disadvantages Disrupts aquatic ecosystems
Constructions needs a large area Initial costs are significantly high Uproots human populations

12 Requires high-quality construction materials
Impacts on environment Concerns about safety of the dams The risk of drought Geological damage

13 Advantages Clean Domestic Renewable
While hydropower energy has some noted disadvantages, its advantages are far greater.

14 Provides flood control irrigation and water supply
Multi-functional Flexible Provides flood control irrigation and water supply Hydropower is fueled by water, so it's a clean fuel source, meaning it won't pollute the air like power plants that burn fossil fuels, such as coal or natural gas. Hydroelectric power is a domestic source of energy, allowing each state to produce their own energy without being reliant on international fuel sources. The energy generated through hydropower relies on the water cycle, which is driven by the sun, making it a renewable power source, making it a more reliable and affordable source than fossil fuels that are rapidly being depleted. Impoundment hydropower creates reservoirs that offer a variety of recreational opportunities, notably fishing, swimming, and boating. Most water power installations are required to provide some public access to the reservoir to allow the public to take advantage of these opportunities.  Some hydropower facilities can quickly go from zero power to maximum output. Because hydropower plants can generate power to the grid immediately, they provide essential back-up power during major electricity outages or disruptions. In addition to a sustainable fuel source, hydropower efforts produce a number of benefits, such as flood control, irrigation, and water supply.

15 6.Principle It uses a dam to store river water in a reservoir.
Water released from the reservoir flows through a turbine, spinning it, which in turn activates a generator to produce electricity.

16 The water is released to maintain a constant reservoir level.

17 The head is the height difference between the water level in the inlet and outlet from the power plant.

18 7.Efficiency The energy is produced by two turbines
Each turbine produces 90 MWh THEY ARE CHECKED EVERY 10 YEAR

19 The end. Team orange
