2 Who are we? Olives- Miss O’Neill, Mrs Bhatti Palms- Miss Deane, Mrs Ansarey, Mrs Keane, Miss Lu Any problems, please make us your first point of call. We will be happy to make an appointment!

3 Home Learning Projects
Sent out at beginning of each half term. Based upon the class learning journey. Collected in at end of half term, exhibition to follow. New prize system for hard work and effort.

4 Home School Books Messaging system between parents and classroom staff. Logins for online learning at home. Record of any books given to or read with children. Reading at home.

5 Reading Book change list on classroom door.
Library books changed every Friday. Guided Reading everyday (carousel). Accelerated Reader and Star Reader. Lexia. Bug Club- linked to guided reading book band. Spellings on a Friday. Daily Reading.

6 Accelerated Reader Weekly quiz on library book- comprehension!
Colour coding is different to normal colours. Star reader quiz. Book to be read at home with questions asked.

7 Maths Mathletics (work set, certificates, assembly). Practical
Linked to Learning Journey with lesson contexts. Everyday life Problem Solving Mental maths carousel. Times tables challenge.

8 Music Taught by Hounslow Music Service (Singing and recorder)
Weekly sessions for 1 hour.

9 Uniform No jewellery except studs. No earrings for P.E. School shoes.
School trousers. School coloured hair accessories (blue, black, white, green) Plain leggings under skirts. P.E Kit

10 Lunches No packed lunches! Family service Menu on weekly newsletter
Free in year 2 Amazing, fresh, healthy and unique to our school!

11 Trips To be paid for using Parent Pay.
Adult helpers picked out of a hat. Free lunch entitlement (not compulsory for trips). Children may wear comfy shoes. Full school uniform apart from this. London Zoo, Windsor Castle- others to be confirmed Dojo Trip

12 Presentation and Handwriting Expectations
Cursive is the goal! Handwriting should be practised at home as well as in school. Book presentation- high expectations!

13 School Values This term- Friendship
New focus voted for by the children every half term. Children showing value given a reward. Class vote weekly for best act of _________ and certificate sent home with name on newsletter.

14 Clubs Sign up by tomorrow! Great for confidence boosting.
Great for social skills. Fun! Make sure children are collected promptly at the end of the club.

15 Our Learning Journey Rumble in the Jungle! Geography- India
Art- Rousseau Science- Animals and their habitats DT- Textiles R.E- People and communities PSHE- Relationships DT- Cooking

16 Punctuality and Attendance
Children can enter from 8.30. Doors close at 8.45. Parents leave children at door then kindly leave. Prompt pick up at 3.15. Attendance- Please, please have children in school every day. Every time a child is late, they miss important guided reading sessions.

17 SATs Small groups. No time limit. Called quizzes.
Spread over the month of May. Given breaks if needed. Maths x3, Reading x2
