1 Warm Up – March 8 10 minutes to sit with your group and prepare for your candidate’s speech and video

2 Voting You are only voting on parties you are not in competition with – List the candidate name and then vote on the following: 1. Quality of each group’s pamphlet and explanation of their campaign platform – 10 pts. 2. Quality of the group’s poster – effort and if you think the poster would help draw people in to vote for their candidate – 10 pts. 3. Quality of the group’s speech – is it persuasive? Do you think the group did a good job explaining their candidate’s positions on the major issues? – 10 pts. 4. Quality of the group’s campaign ad/commercial – is the video persuasive? Does it explain the candidate’s stance on the major issues? – 10 pts. TOTAL Points out of 40 – highest total for each party receives your vote

3 Presidential Debates If your candidate won their primary – you are helping them prepare for the debate Make sure they can answer any questions about your party’s stances on taxes, immigration and gun control They also need to be aware of the other party’s stances on the same issues so they are ready to respond to what the other candidates are saying Prepare a closing statement that your candidate can read at the end of the debate – their last chance to win people’s vote If your candidate loses their primary – you are preparing questions to ask the candidates Work with your group to create questions so everyone does not have the same questions Must have one question for each party for each issue (write the party and issue for each question – For example: Green Party – Immigration)

4 TOD – March 8 On a post it – Which candidate do you believe best understood and explained their stance on the major issues and won the debate? You must write one paragraph to support your choice
