3 The Risk of Using Weak Passwords
People impersonating you to commit fraud and other crimes, including: Accessing your bank account Purchasing items online with your money Impersonating you on social networking and dating sites Sending s in your name Accessing the private information held on your computer

4 Use a strong, separate password for your email
Cyber criminals can use your to access many of your personal accounts. Having a strong , separate password for your means that if a cybercriminal steals the password for one of your less important accounts, they can not use it to access your account.

5 Use three random words to create a strong password
A good way to create a strong and memorable password is to use three random words. Choose a password with at least 8-12 characters (more if you can, as longer passwords are harder for criminals to guess or break) Numbers and symbols can still be used if needed, for example FIZZY ORANGE DOLHINS as Be creative and use words memorable to you, so that people can’t guess your password. Your social media accounts can give away vital clues about yourself so don’t use words such as your child’s name or favourite sports team which are easy for people to guess.  Cyber criminals are very smart and know many of the simple substitutions we use such as ‘Pa55word!” which utilises symbols to replace letters.
