You will use this template to create a readers theater script that describes one of the events from your history book in Chapter 10: Tension in the Colonies. Your play should include: A narrator and a minimum of two characters A setting A minimum of two pages in length Actions by British and colonists leading up to the event. The reactions of both British and colonists to the event. How the event impacted the decision to declare independence. If your play is longer than the template, you may continue your script on a blank sheet of paper. Add a title to your slide. There is a column of text for each battle. At the end of each

6 The Neutralists: I Will Not Fight…..
Goal: Use CER (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning) to explain why a colonist might choose to be neutral in the fight for independence. As tensions between England and the colonies grew, colonists made a choice. Some colonists sided with the Patriots, who were willing to fight for independence, and some sided with the Loyalists, who maintained loyalty to England. Others chose to remain neutral. After watching the video, write a claim about the neutralists view on fighting for independence. Support your claim with three pieces of evidence from the video. Use reasoning to explain how the evidence supports the claim. Write your CER on a word document and share it with me. Name your document, “Neutralist CER”. The Patriot: I Will Not Fight...
