Be sure your map is ABCD (Accurate, Colorful, Bold, and Detailed) Make a list of the New England Colonies of 1620. Then make a list of the Northeastern states of 2015. Compare the two lists. Use a Venn Diagram to tell how the colonies and states are alike and how are the colonies and states are different? Write a poem about making a living in the New England Colonies. The New England colonists depended on the geography to survive. Write a two- paragraph description detailing how the geography affected life of the New England colonies. Make flashcards of the following words: Pilgrim Puritan Colony Mayflower Great Britain Colonist Charter Write the word and draw a picture on one side. Write the definition on the other side. The purpose of the Declaration of Independence was to convince the British king and Parliament that the colonists had a right to govern themselves. Imagine you are a colonist. Write a persuasive letter to the British king convincing him that colonists have a right to rule over themselves. Thomas Jefferson was chosen to be the main writer of the Declaration of Independence. Using every letter of Thomas Jefferson’s name, write a word or phrase to describe him. Example: T- Talented H- Hero People who are independent can be said to live without much assistance from others. Draw a T-Chart. On one side of the T-chart list the good things about being independent, and on the other side list the bad things about being independent. Create a timeline listing events from the beginning of the Second Continental Congress all the way to the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
