2 Poland Poland - officialy the Republic of Poland. The location is in central Europe over Baltic Sea. Poland borders with seven countries. There are: the Germany (on west), the Czech Republic and Slovakia (on south) as well as Ukraine, Belorussia and Lithuania (on east) and Russia (on north). (7) (6) (5) (1) (2) (4) (3)

3 Poland in European Union
 Poland is a member of the European Union from first may 2004 and has a great economic potential. There are many universities and academies which offer the highest level of education. Polish culture and art have a long history and are distinguishable abroad. Although Poland is highly developed and influenced by contemporary trends, it also retains its own unique tradition.

4 The biggest city Warsaw is the capital and the largest city of Poland. It is located in the center of the country, which makes it easily accessible from the other parts of Poland. The city's agglomeration is highly populated due to its economic potential and the best job opportunities. Rich and diverse educational offer attracts students from all over the world. The capital of Poland has a long and complicated history. The city was severly destroyed during World War II (almost 85 % buildings were razed to the ground). After that it was rebuilt by the communists. Some of the historic places were restored to their original form, others were created from scratch.

6 Baltic sea The Baltic Sea is surrounded by land on all sides, therefore it is called the inland continental sea. It is part of the Atlantic Ocean. The Baltic Coastis very varied in Poland. Along the shore stretch sandy, wide beaches with dunes going into the cliffs. In the southern part of the Baltic Sea is located the only Polish island - Wolin. The Baltic is much less salty than other seas. Because of the sweet waters of many rivers. The wind blowing over the Baltic Sea causes its waters to continually rip.

8 The longest river Wisła - the longest river of Poland, 1047 km long. It is also the longest river going to the Baltic Sea. The river is located in southern Poland on the western slope of the Baranie Góra in the Beskid Śląski. The main course of the Wisła is the meridian.

The largest lake Śniardwy is the largest lake in Poland with an area of ​​114 km². The lake is located within the Masurian Landscape Park in the southern part of the Great Masurian Lakes Region. This is glacial lake. Maximum depth of 23 meters. Average depth of 6,5 meters

12 The highest mountains The Tatra Mountains are the most famous ones in Poland. They are the highest mountain chain in the country, as well as the most beautiful one. The area is 785 km², of which 175 km² lies within the borders of Poland, about 610 km² in Slovakia

14 The highest peak in Poland
The mountain is located on the Polish-Slovakian border, in the High Tatras (part of the Tatra Mountains). It has three vertices, the highest of which is the median (2503 m.), located entirely in Slovakia. The northern tip, through which the border runs, is the highest point of Poland (2499 m.).
