5 Typical Morning Door opens at 7:30
Report to 6th Grade POD or teacher for Zero Block Bell will ring to go to class 8:15 Tardy Bell 8:20

6 Zero Block 7:30-8:15 Tuesday through Friday – teachers have schedules
Tutoring, redoing tests, questions IMPORTANT!!! Students MUST sign in for zero block. If they enter your address, you will get an with all the details (teacher, reason, date, etc.).

9 Classes - A and B Day Core Classes Electives
Group 1 elective: *BOTH ELECTIVES CAN BE FROM GROUP 1; however Show Choir and Band may not work depending on the instrument played. PE Band Show Choir ($125 required for dress/tux) Group 2 elective: Music/Art Venture Learning Strategies Tutorial Math* Science/Social Studies* Language Arts* Students are not allowed to participate in any athletics until 7th grade.

10 Band and Show Choir Conflict
Due to Show Choir and one of the band classes being the same block, some of the instruments will not work with Show Choir, so PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PUT AN ALTERNATE CHOICE.

11 Physical Education Mixed Classes in 6th grade Meet every other day
Must dress out Tennis shoes with non-marking soles Health Education and Physical Education Must follow school dress code STATE MANDATED

12 Extracurricular Activities
Student Council 6th-8th grade BETA 6th – 8th grade SUFO 6th – 8th grade Archery 6th-8th grade (after school) Show Choir 6th-8th grade Band 6th- 8th grade Gentleman’s Academy 6th-8th grade Cheer and Dance 7th and 8th grade Tennis 7th and 8th grade Football, basketball, baseball, track, cross country 7th and 8th grade Soccer, softball, volleyball are played with the high school 7th and 8th grade

16 Tardy Policy & BSD Third tardy = Before School Detention
Teachers can assign BSD to students for minor classroom discipline problems PRIDE card Students with perfect attendance (no tardies, no checkouts, no ISS) will be rewarded each month!

17 PowerSchool If you have ever signed up for Parent Portal in PowerSchool, it will carry over. We highly recommend, you download the app- district code is BFTC. This is the best way to keep track of your child’s grades, tardiness, and absences. It also provides easy access to ing your child’s teachers. You must contact FES to get login instructions if you are a first time user.

Shorts/skirts –no more than 6 inches above the knee and no Nike running shorts Leggings – Over garment MUST follow shorts/skirts rule No spaghetti straps or racer back shirts No holes/shreds in jeans No sagging clothing No undergarments worn as clothing or open shirts

25 6th Grade Orientation 2017 Tuesday, August 6, :00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. **Students can be dropped off as early as 7:00** Mock schedule run through, meet all teachers, get lockers and supply lists, etc. OPEN HOUSE August 6, :30-6:30
