CHAPTER 8 REVOCATION & SUSPENSION

2 Revocation means that your driving privileges have been taken away indefinitely. To regain your license, you may be eligible to reapply for your license after a minimum of one year

3 Revocation Reckless homicide (resulting in the death of another person) DUI A Felony Offense (vehicle used while you committed a serious crime) Leaving the scene (left the scene of a crash that kill or injured someone) Perjury (false information to the Secretary of State) Reckless Driving (3 in one year) Drag Racing Reckless Conduct (involving a vehicle resulted in injury or danger to another person) Auto Theft Aggravated Fleeing the Police

4 Suspension means that you temporarily lost your driving privileges, you may regain your driving privileges after a specific length of time

5 SUSPENSION Traffic Crashes (convicted for refusal or neglect to report a traffic accident) Uninsured crashes (your fault) Drug/Alcohol Test Failure Drug/Alcohol Test Refusal Illegal Transportation of Alcohol Drug or Sex Offense School Bus Violations Parking Violations Fraudulent License/Application Failure to Appear in Court Failure to Pay Child Support

6 SUSPENSION 21 years old or older: three moving violations within 12 months your license will be suspended Under 21 years old: 2 moving violations within any 24 month period, your license will be suspended, if you are under 18 years old – you will be required to take a remedial education course to get your driving privileges back. (Length of suspension will vary according to the seriousness of the traffic offenses)
