Explain one way in which people’s reactions to the plague in Britain were similar in the fourteenth and seventeenth centuries.
One way in which reactions to the plague were similar in the fourteenth and seventeenth centuries was that in both centuries people’s reactions were based on religion. In 1348 people used flagellation as they thought the Black Death was a punishment from God. In 1665 they pained a red cross and ‘Lord have mercy’ on the door for the same reason. People also fasted and prayed during both epidemics.
