2. Biography
John Pemberton was born on July 8, 1831 in Knoxville, Georgia. He was a soldier in the confederate army during the Civil War. During his time in the service he was hurt and injured so the doctors gave him morphine which is a pain killer, but also can be very additive. John Pemberton became addicted to morphine. He tried to stop his addiction to morphine. Since, he was trying to stop his addiction to morphine he tried different things. He had one child. John pemberton’s house is in downtown Columbus, Georgia as well his grave. He died August 16, 1888 in Atlanta, Georgia.

3. Invention
John Pemberton is most known for inventing coca-cola. He invented coke to help with his addiction to morphine. Morphine was first used to help with the pain he had because he was a soldier in the Confederate Army serving in the civil war. Coke was first made with cocaine. It helped with other soldiers addictions to morphine and other medicines. Coke was very helpful to soldiers addictions.
