5 IN the summer of 1754 Ben Franklin proposed the Albany Plan of Union
IN the summer of 1754 Ben Franklin proposed the Albany Plan of Union. The plan called for all the colonies to unite against France. The council would make laws, raise taxes, and set up defense of the colonies against the French. Without this union Franklin believed the colonies would be doomed.
