2 Literary Movements Puritans- the Bible provided a model, diaries and histories are most common: Jonathan Edwards & Anne Bradstreet Rationalism- Reason above all else: Ben Franklin & Patrick Henry Romanticism- Poetry is highest form of imagination, looks to nature, feeling and intuition over reason: William Cullen Bryant & John Russell Lowell Dark Romanticism- explored the dark side of human nature and the madness of the psyche, Edgar Allan Poe!
