English III Aug. 29th Materials: blue rubric from last week (if you don’t have one, there are some you can borrow beneath the cabinets) something to write with, highlighter, sample essays Using your rubric as a guide, scan through the 1st essay and highlight at least five things you think that the writer did to earn a score of 4/4/2 which is a perfect score.

English III Aug. 29th Now, scan through the essay a 2nd time and try to pinpoint the counter-argument/ counter- claim. When you think that you’ve found it, circle it with your pen or pencil.

English III Aug. 29th In the blank space at the bottom of page 13, write PFO, E&E, and Con. Then give the essay the rubric score you think that it deserved and a brief statement as to why. You can see that the official score for this was PFO=4/4 E&E=4/4 Con.= 2/2

English III Aug. 29th Read pages This essay was on the same topic but was given a score of 3/2/1. 1st- highlight anything you think the writer did well 2nd- underline anything you think the author did that was NOT so well 3rd- scan for a counter-argument/ counter-claim. When you think you’ve found it, circle it.
