2 Week 6: copy the words and definitions
Fathom-understand a difficult problem after much thought. Ponder-think about something carefully, especially before making a decision Bewilder-cause (someone) to become perplexed and confused. Critique-evaluate in a detailed and analytical way. Plagiarism-taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.

3 Turn and Talk When was the last time you really had to ponder something? Which subject areas worry about plagiarism the most? Name a movie that you think was unfairly critiqued by movie reviewers. Who is the easiest person in your family to bewilder? Complete this sentence- ‘For the life of me, I can’t fathom how _______ won ________.

4 Copy the sentences. then rewrite one of them substituting the underlined words.
I cannot begin to fathom how The Shape of Water won best picture. The professor critiqued the student’s work, but he did not realize the student had plagiarized. When I get bewildered, I have to step back and ponder my next move.
