Early Advocates Susan B. Anthony Elizabeth Cady Stanton
Great advocate of women's rights since 1880, was an activist, did not allow herself to be cited or imprisoned for illegally exercising her right to vote. Elizabeth Cady Stanton Wrote the Seneca Falls Declaration, incorporated her twist to the declaration of independence. When the founding fathers wrote this document they wanted liberty from England, now women wanted independence from male oppression.

Struggle Iron Jawed Angels
Depicted how women had to struggle for the right to vote. Alice Paul played by Elizabeth Swank was imprisoned in deplorable conditions, they wanted to go on a hunger strike but were forced to eat by the guards. Its comforting to now that when word got out of this treatment, public action rose and women’s voices were being listened to. With Courage and Cloth: Winning the fight For a Women’s Right to Vote Story about how women fought this battle. Showed how with courage and cloth they managed to change the views of the government and fight for their right to vote. Was a really good organized book. Narrated how the demonstrations were organized. Depicted how Woodrow Wilson finally started paying attention to the people and not just to the male opinion.

Ongoing Battle Older literature Main character is Alice Paul
I focused primarily on older literature. Wanted to present an anthology of what it was to actually be in the fight for this. Main character is Alice Paul Alice Paul was essential for these demonstrations, she was one of the women that propelled this fight forward. She was relentless in achieving this. The right to vote essential Its essential in having representation. Without being able to vote there is nothing a female or any citizen can do to be heard. When you vote you have a say as to who will govern and how they will govern. Fight for vote is over, fight for equality is not It is 2014 and still men earn more than women. Women have come along way since August 18, Winning the right to vote increases the chances of obtaining equality.
