Noted phenomenologist – “the philosophy or method of inquiry based on the premise that reality consists of objects as they are perceived or understood in human consciousness and not of anything independent of human consciousness”
His theories are based on early field theorists
Reality is based upon what the individual learner perceives

3. What this means for the Teacher
This should guide the teacher to understand that different kids from different backgrounds have a different meaning and understanding of learning
The teacher in this case should be a facilitator for the students – a guide on their journey of learning – and also must keep a professional relationship with the students

4. Curriculum for this Style
The curriculum should concerned with the process not the products – in teacher speak this means concerned with the understanding of what is done not necessarily the outcome of the learning
The should not be a structured class but rather a free flowing of ideas and knowledge for the students to learn.

5. Meaning for US
In today’s world of high stakes testing is this theory really practical, for most classrooms I would say no. If the teacher is to be held accountable for the students’ success and failure on a test then they would not be able to teach in this manner.
I believe however that this would be an ideal classroom for the gifted and talented student as well as those in an apprenticeship learning how to do something not if it is right or wrong.
