13 Why would a country change its capital city?

14 Examples: Brazil moves capital to Brasilia.
Brasília was planned and developed by Lúcio Costa and Oscar Niemeyer in 1956 to move the capital from Rio de Janeiro to a more central location. This was an attempt to open up the center of the country and make it so the coastal cities did not control everything. The city was officially “opened” in 1960.

15 Examples: Pakistan moves capital from Karachi to Islamabad
Islamabad was built during the 1960s to replace Karachi as Pakistan's capital.  Islamabad was in the center of the country. Karachi was considered vulnerable to a Naval attack. Karachi was also a business center and it was believed that business should not have such a direct influence on the government.

16 Myanmar moves capital to Naypyidaw
On 6 November 2005, the administrative capital of the country was quietly relocated from Yangon to a greenfield site about 320 km (200 mi) north of where it had been, with minimal explanation from the government. It is not known why the capital was moved, but according to The Guardian, it was because Than Shwe did it as a "vanity project.“ It does have a more central location than the old capital. The government claimed that Yangon was too congested.
