Using these four key words answer the following question; Why do you think rationing was introduced during the Second World War?

3 Demonstrate Task 1: You will need to get into to groups of 3
Around the room are a number of sources related to rationing. Each person will be given a letter, You will be given 5 minutes to study each source and answer a set of questions about rationing. You will then feedback what you have learnt to the rest of your group

4 Task 2: Each person must now feedback to their groups on what they have learnt about rationing, the group will complete their feedback sheet

Butter: 50g (2oz) Meat: 100g (4oz) Margarine: 100g (4oz) Sugar: 225g (8oz). Meat: To the value of 1s.2d (one shilling and sixpence per week. That is about 6p today) Milk: 3 pints (1800ml) occasionally dropping to 2 pints (1200ml). Cheese: 2oz (50g) Eggs: 1 fresh egg a week. Tea: 50g (2oz). Jam: 450g (1lb) every two months. Dried eggs 1 packet every four weeks. Sweets: 350g (12oz) every four weeks Remember Bread wasn’t rationed and vegetables were grown in your own garden
