2 Introduction Surgeons must be very careful When they take the knife! Underneath their fine incisions Stirs the Culprit - Life! ~Emily Dickinson I want to get into this career because I would want to help people and I am not afraid of blood. In order to get a better understanding of a life as a radiologist/surgeon I would be researching nature of work, working conditions, training, qualifications, advancements, job outlook/employment, earnings and related occupation

3 Nature of Work Evaluate the medical history of the patient and choose the best method of radiology. Prepare the patients for imaging for diagnostics Diagnose the patient’s disease or injury from the images made Treat the patients through nuclear medicine (nuclear medicine)or surgery Do radiological testing to ensure the patient have been successfully treated

4 Working Conditions Both physical and mental
In a hospital and operation rooms Work hours a week Under pressure Work with x-rays and patients

5 Training, Qualifications, Advancement
Training and Education 4 years of undergraduate 4 years of medical school 3-4 years of radiology training Wayne State Med-Start or Pre-Med Classes to take AP Biology or AP Chemistry and Pre-Med

6 Job Outlook/Employment
Rising 22 percent from Extremely competitive Workplace St. Clair Shores Henry Ford Medical

7 Earnings Wage 300,000 dollars Goals Make a million dollars Purchases

Education and Training 4 years of undergrad 2 years of physician assistant education Job growth 39 percent from Work Work under surgeons and physicians Why? Can continue to become a radiologist/surgeon

9 Summary I look forward to have the opportunity to save a person’s life. know that not everyone could be saved. That is a part of the career that I would not look forward to but will accept. I would be proud to be a radiologist/surgeon . It would also make my parents proud that I would be the first doctor in the family tree.
