Project Challenge One

2 What have we practiced….
Composition creation..how to arrange an image to make awesome!!! Creating examples of the elements of art. How to draw…contour lines, blind contours, continuous lines, cross contour lines How to add value…blending, hatching, scribbling, cross hatching, stippling. Using different media…pencil, marker/sharpie, pen, scratch board, white charcoal, watercolor, and torn paper.

Choose one of the these 3 themes: Architecture, Nature, Objects Plan, research, design, reference and create a drawing using what we practiced. Your choice of media and techniques

4 Architecture Create a work of art with a focus on architectural structure Considerations: Answer the following in your sketchbook. What will the subject of your art be? What style of art, will you incorporate into your art representational, or abstract? What medium are you consider using form this project? What references will you need for this work? Which Compositions rules will you illustrate? Which element of art will be your focus and how? Warm ups: Complete at least two tutorials in your sketchbook before beginning your architecture drawing. The tutorials may demonstrate “how to” use materials, new techniques or ways to improve your drawing skills. Suggestions include: one, two and or three point perspective. Planning: Create several thumbnails sketches of what you want the final work to look like.

5 Nature Packet Objective: Create a work of art where the subject is based on nature. Considerations: Answer the following in your sketchbook. What will the subject of your art be? What style of art, realistic, stylized, abstract will you incorporate into your art? What medium are you consider using form this project? Will you draw from observation or will you need any references for this project? Which Compositions rules will you illustrate? Which element of art will be your focus and how? Warm ups: Complete at least two tutorials in your sketchbook before beginning your nature art. Suggested video include: How to draw fur. How to water color flowers. Planning: Create several thumbnails sketches of what you want the final work to look like in your sketchbook.

6 Objects Considerations: Answer the following in your sketchbook.
What object or grouping of objects are you considering? What style of art, realistic, stylized, abstract will you incorporate into your art? Which composition rules will you use to arrange your object? What medium are you considering using for this artwork? Will you draw from observation or will you need references? Which element of art will be your focus and how? Warm ups: Complete at least two tutorials in your sketchbook before beginning your object. Tutorials to consider: Understanding different types of balance in art. Composition tips for artists. How to set up still life. Planning: Create several thumbnails sketches of what you want the final work to look like.

7 Planning for this project is a Major grade!!
Warmups on continuous line drawing and how to grid. These are my warm drawings. Plan on using a combination of both. Going to grid the bottom one for the bones of my final piece of art. Architecture ( Considerations written in a thought out paragraph) My subject is going to be from photos I took on a architecture hunt in Savannah Georgia. My project will be representational because I want to you recognize it. I am considering using sharpie and/or watercolor. I will work from a photo that I took as my reference and I am inspired by the other images posted in this assignment. The composition rules I want to use are point of view, repetition and leading lines. I will be focusing on the element of line because I want to try a continuous contour line drawing.

My project will be representational because I want to you recognize it. I am considering using sharpie and/or watercolor. I will work from a photo that I took as my reference and I am inspired by the other images posted in this assignment. The composition rules I want to use are point of view, repetition and leading lines. I will be focusing on the element of line because I want to try a continuous contour line drawing. Gather inspiration and reference images.
