DRC Student Corrections Online Cleanup
The DRC Student Corrections Online Cleanup System will open on June 10 and close on June Please note the following: The department cannot provide extensions of this timeline for any reason. This system provides schools with access to corrections for impending zeros and incorrect demographics that impact school performance score calculations. District level users should approve changes. To help schools identify issues that created impending zeros, a preliminary data file is provided in DRC eDirect that identifies when: Student demographics do not match across subject area tests Students took tests or did not participate in testing Student tests were voided This is the only time schools can correct impending zeros prior to calculation of VAM data that are used for the school performance score progress index.

KEA and K-3 Literacy Screening Guidance 2019-2020
Each year, public schools must administer a Kindergarten Entry Assessment (KEA) and a K-3 literacy screener within the first 30 days of school. The approved assessments are below. A KEA must be given to all first-time kindergarten students. Two KEA assessment options are approved: DRDP and TS GOLD. A K-3 Literacy screener must be administered to all Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students. Four assessment options are approved: DIBELS Next, DIBELS 8th, STEEP, and STEP. School systems will submit KEA and K-3 Literacy data with the SIS K-3 Assessment Collection. A full-day session on DIBELS 8th edition, and two 80-minute sessions on the KEA will be offered at the 2019 Teacher Leader Summit. Participants must register to attend.
14
KEA and K-3 Literacy Screening Guidance 2019-2020
The PreK-Grade 3 Screening Guidance has been released. The two approved Kindergarten Entry Assessment options are DRDP and TS GOLD. The four approved K-3 Literacy Screener options are DIBELS Next, DIBELS 8th Edition, STEEP, and STEP. District Test Coordinators need to complete the following survey to select the KEA and K-3 Literacy Screening choices for your district. The Louisiana Department of Education must have this on file by Friday, May 17.
15
K-2 Accountability Pilots
Second Grade Checkup Update: Instead of administering the checkup only to students, LDOE will be collecting feedback through a survey for all teachers and district personnel involved in the pilot this spring. The planned administration window, May 6-17, will be used to complete the survey. This survey will include sample test questions for teachers and students to interact with and questions on administration, reporting, and accountability. The survey was sent via . There are two attachments in the that include student sample questions and a scoring key. Copies of the sample questions should be made for every student participating in the survey. Teachers should administer the sample questions to all of their second grade students and score prior to entering the data into the survey.
16
K-2 Accountability Pilots
K-2 Pilot Post Survey Districts that participated in the CLASS, Best Practices, or First Grade Writing pilots are to complete the K-2 Pilot Post-survey by Friday, May 17. Surveys were ed to district contacts and piloting school principals. Principals are to forward the survey to teachers that participated in these pilots. Test Security Student tests should be voided if there is an instance of cheating—whether by a student or by anyone else. In the case of student cheating: The Test Administrator should give the School Test Coordinator a written account of the incident, with any available additional documentation, including the lithocode number of the answer document or consumable test booklet and the domain to be voided. The School Test Coordinator should convene a school-level test security committee consisting at a minimum of the principal, the School Test Coordinator, and the test administrator to determine whether a test should be voided. The STC will complete the Void Notification form and notify the District Test Coordinator of any voided test. The District Test Coordinator should complete and the Void Verification form to LDOE at

English Language Proficiency Screener
The ELPS is a tool for determining if students entering Kindergarten through grade 12 are English Learners (ELs) who require language support services to continue developing proficiency in English. Students who do not score proficient on the ELPS will be identified as an EL and can receive an EL Accommodations Form. The ELPS is designed to assess a student’s English proficiency in the four language domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Beginning August 1, 2019 the ELPS will be Louisiana’s required standardized entrance screener. The ELPS is free of charge for districts. ELPS will be unavailable from July 13 – July 31, 2019. All guidance and trainings are available in the Assessment Library.
51
Screener Setup The ELPS is a computer-based assessment that will be taken in the AIR Portal, the same testing system used for the English Learner Proficiency Test (ELPT). Prior to testing, the AIR Secure Browser must be installed on computers. Reference the Secure Browser Installation Manual for detailed directions. Test administrators, students, and accommodations are managed in the TIDE Portal. See the TIDE User Guide for detailed directions on test setup requirements. Both District and School Test Coordinators have permission to add students into TIDE. Students must have a LASID in order to be entered into TIDE and take ELPS. Students taking the ELPS will need headsets with microphones for interacting with the online platform. The headsets are the same ones required for taking the ELPT. Specifications for headsets are located on pages 5-6 of the Technology Requirements document in the Assessment Library. *Enable pop-up windows and microphone settings on all ELPS computers prior to screening.
