1. ICAS Alarm Upgrade ICAS Alarm Upgrade Project
Against fierce competition, Cetix has been awarded a turnkey contract to a value in excess of £245,000 to supply an Independent Critical Alarm System (ICAS) to one of our large clients.
The ICAS system is a standalone network of sensors, monitoring points and alarms. The system monitors defined operating parameters within high containment laboratories located in the main building. The ICAS system monitors and provides alerts when conditions are outside normal operating parameters in high containment laboratories.
The system initially monitors laboratory room air pressures (differential pressure, laboratory to corridor), freezer temperatures and O2 depletion. The system raises alarms when the specified conditions are above or below normal operating conditions.
The project includes the following : -
Project Management
Initial site survey to confirm requirements
Supply, install, commission and connect to the ICAS additional O2 Depletion Monitors in several laboratories
Connect to Formaldehyde Monitors in various locations
Design, supply, install and commission wall mounted Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) to interface via WAGO remote I/O to the above monitors and connect to the site fibre optic ICAS network
Visual and audible annunciation of alarms
Upgrade the existing Wonderware InTouch SCADA hardware to a hot standby configuration to provide improved availability
Upgrade the existing Wonderware InTouch SCADA software licenses to the latest version and Operating System for futureproofing
Configuration of InTouch SCADA screen mimics and polling data from WAGO I/O
New SCADA client HMI located at the Security Gatehouse with UPS
Installation and commissioning including all data, communications and power cabling with necessary cable containment
Administrator, operator and maintenance training
Full in house, FAT and Site Testing
Full documentation provision
Air tight sealing of all penetrations made during installation
Calibration of O2 Monitors during commissioning
Provision of site establishment including storage for materials, office space and fencing
Cetix is responsible for designing and configuring the complete system, including configuring the InTouch ICAS SCADA system.
The system is fully tested at our works using I/O simulation before being demonstrated to PHE at a final FAT prior to its shipment to site. The tests are agreed in a comprehensive Test Specification.
The system has been designed to allow easy and low cost expansion in the future allowing additional assets to be integrated into the system.
