1. Summary of Events
Committee engaged in following work since the feedback sessions were held at the two schools respectively
Committee met to review feedback from both HS to discover common concerns and themes
Committee chairs complete the draft of Policy Revisions
Presentation to Policy Committee on 11/13

2. Revisions to the Initial Proposal
No credit ceiling or 9 credit recommendation
Credit allocation for dual-enrollment classes will marry timeline/duration of the class (in effect with class of 2021, at end of Q3)

3. Recommendations Consistent with Prior the Proposal
Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and NECA Scholar will remain in place for Class of 2019 and 2020
Class of 2021
Latin Honors System implemented in place of current GPA and Ranking System
Distinguished speaker recognized at each graduation ceremony
At conclusion of third marking period, the senior academic record will be finalized in terms of consideration for distinguished speaker and Latin Honors, respectively

4. Additional Thoughts Sub-committee recommends the following:
Professional Development over summer to revise school profiles and accentuate each unique program offered within Norwalk Public Schools
Incorporate info-graphs for school profile to identify outstanding accomplishments
Review guide to subject offerings to that it is more descriptive and takes into account the aforementioned changes
Incorporate info/statements in Guide that speaks to Wellness initiatives and information regarding importance of engaging in a holistic course of study
Provide an explanation in the Guide to explain how we support and recognize student accomplishment
