2 Basic terms Geography – The study of the earth , all the people on it and how they interact. Physical Geography: Deals with physical features you can touch. Landforms, resources, climate, and life forms. Human Geography: Deals with the people of the earth and how they interact. Relates to religion, language, economics, and all other aspects of culture.

3 Movement Answers: How do people, goods, and ideas move from one place to another?
The movement of goods, people and ideas. Migration for a job, sending an , selling carrots to other countries.

4 Region Answers: How are places similar and different?
A group of places with at least ONE common characteristic (human or physical) Defined by climate, landforms, languages, religions, economic activity, or any other common characteristic.

5 Human Environment Interaction Answers: How do people interact with the world around them?
Anytime that human actions affect the environment or when the environmental conditions causes humans to have to make a change. Farming, building a bridge, moving from a flood plain.

6 Location Answers: Where is something?
Absolute Location: The exact spot on the earth. Latitude and Longitude Relative Location: Relation compared to other places.

7 Place Answers: What is it like?
Characteristics of a place Physical – landforms, ecosystems, climate, ect. Human -- # of people, work, language, customs, beliefs, economy, ect.
