1 Energy Resiliency Task Force: TOR
The Energy Resiliency Task Force (ERTF) was established upon the instructions of the Energy Ministers during the 12th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Energy Ministers’ Meeting (EMM12) held in Cebu, Philippines on 13 October 2015

2 Energy Resiliency Task Force TOR: Objectives
Its objective is to implement the Energy Ministers’ instructions to promote energy resiliency in the APEC region anchored on the four strategic priority sub-themes: Climate-proofing energy infrastructures; Providing an avenue for cutting-edge energy efficient technologies; Advocating community-based clean energy use in energy poverty- stricken areas; Improving energy-related trade and investment in APEC

3 Energy Resiliency Task Force TOR: Scope
The Task Force will facilitate the discussion and exchange of information in support of energy resiliency to the following: Policies and regulations and laws; Human capital development through education, training and workshops; Innovations/technology development of energy resilient infrastructures; and Emergency preparedness and contingency plans.

4 ERTF Implementation Plan
The implementation plan provides suggested initial ERTF work streams for carrying out the objectives of the ERTF as outlined in the official Terms of Reference This plan will serve as a living document to address new or revised priority areas as the ERTF begins implementation of its work Three critical areas for initial ETRF work streams will be grid resiliency, energy-water nexus and strengthening infrastructure

5 ERTF Implementation Plan (2)
Grid resilience is increasingly important to APEC economies as climate change increases the frequency and intensity of severe weather: Developing resilience metrics Enhancing system design for resiliency Improving preparedness and mitigation measures Improving system response and recovery Analyzing and managing interdependencies.

6 ERTF Implementation Plan (2)
Energy-Water Nexus: An important part of energy resiliency is understanding and addressing challenges stemming from the energy-water nexus Energy-water data modelling Energy and water resilient technologies Energy and water policy development and technical-policy integration

7 ERTF Implementation Plan (3)
Strengthening Infrastructure: By sharing lessons learned and collaborating with major partners in the region, we can help develop an integrated roadmap for strengthening energy infrastructure across the APEC region: Sharing self-assessments of domestic energy infrastructure Technical/analytical review of energy infrastructure Hardening of existing facilities
