3 Who is Howard Schultz? he is recognized for his entrepreneurship and leadership he built the Starbucks Coffee Company into one of the world`s most recognized and respected businesses

4 Why Howard Schultz? Everybody knows Starbucks but not many are familiar with the person who was responsible for its success

5 His “rags-to-riches” story
born in Brooklyn during his childhood he lived in poverty earned an athletic scholarship to university worked various jobs to support himself

6 After College vice president and general manager of “Hammerplast”
encountered the Starbucks shops in Seattle he was passionate, ambitious and committed director of retail operations and marketing at Starbucks

7 The Trip to Milan a trip to Milan made him understand the personal connection people can have with coffee he was a strong communicator because his idea was born thanks to his talking to the Milan coffee shop owners a roadside espresso bar in Milan

8 Quitting Starbucks he had a definite aim, vision and purpose
quit Starbucks when the founders didn’t like his ideas he was courageous because he wasn`t afraid to burn bridges if it meant moving forward

9 His New Company started his own coffee company - "Il Giornale"
spent an year raising 1.6 million dollars to launch his business with positive attitude and perseverance he took action and believed in the success of his idea

10 Buying Starbucks had an enormous success
after two years he bought Starbucks for 3.8 million dollars and became CEO

the company is ranked third on Fortune’s list of “World’s Most Admired Companies”
