2. A The exterior rescuer on the ladder will position him- or herself at or below the windowsill ready to receive the victim. The rescuer on the ladder will position the victim by placing the victim’s legs to the outside of the ladder beams and hooking one arm into the groin of the victim. Both hands should grasp the beam of the ladder firmly.

3. B The upper body of the victim should then
be placed onto the rescuer’s opposite arm.

4. C The rescuer will descend the ladder grasping the rails while leaning inward to control the victim until they reach the base of the ladder, and the rescuer is assisted by additional firefighters in moving the victim to waiting EMS personnel.
