3. What does ‘evaluation’ mean?

4. Overall, which platform is more effective?
I agree that Facebook is an effective platform because it has a variety of functions including messaging, picture sharing and link sharing. By focusing the users’ attention on their friends’ feed, it encourages us to take interest in what others are doing and also keep connections going that may otherwise disappear. Overall, Facebook provides the user with as much access to the news and outside world as they please.
I agree that Instagram is a strong and effective platform, however there are some limits to it. It can also be considered negative because it can encourage low self-esteem in teenagers with the filters – this makes it easy to present your life as ‘perfect’. For example, the Kardashians can easily present unrealistic beauty ideals that can effect young people. Overall, I think that Instagram does not offer a positive outlet that so many of its users may need.
