1 Infatuation or Love??? Healthful Living B. Gunderson

2 What does infatuation mean?
How would you act if you were infatuated?

3 According to the text: “symptoms” of infatuation are…
Panic Uncertainty overpowering lust feverish excitement impatience jealousy unhappy suspicious miserable when they are away difficult to concentrate not complete unless with them doubt relationship incomplete unless sexual encounter

4 What does the text suggest about infatuation being biological?
when infatuated we get surges of Dopamine= feel good Norepinephrine= adrenaline Phenylethalimine=bliss Oxytocin=emotional attachment & sexual arousal. Together these brain chemicals override the brain activity that provokes logic. We build a “tolerance” to these chemicals so it takes more to feel the intoxicating effects.

5 What does love mean? How would you act or what would you do if you were in love?

6 According to the text: “symptoms” of LOVE are…
No particular desire to change them. Pose no condition on whether you will love them or not Focus is on what you like about them appreciation for who they are You give your attention, your time, your focus to them (balance). When talking, complete attention on partner when speaking undivided attention (when conversing) Touch, hold hand, etc. (appropriate for boundaries set by BOTH partners).

7 Now your turn to create a cd . . .
Work Independently Your CD or Playlist must have a minimum of 15 songs. You must create a CD cover. All of your songs should be focused on love instead of infatuation. Write a 2 or 3 sentence explanation as to why you think this song is focused on love and not on infatuation. Due Date???
