Presentation on theme: "The chemistry behind love The research will explain the chemical hormone bonding within romance and its influences on human adult and teenage relationships."— Presentation transcript:

The chemistry behind love The research will explain the chemical hormone bonding within romance and its influences on human adult and teenage relationships. The three hormones most important to this process are oxytocin, dopamine, and vasopressin.

Who is the audience The research will be interesting to the general public because not many know the backstage action of romance and bonding. Most of the people I have told about oxytocin have no idea what the hormone is or what its purpose is in our brain. Out of the people I have asked half have been interested to learn more about the hormone. From the few that know about the hormone some are interested to see the hormone being analyzed in a new way instead of its affects on childbirth and autism.

What they will learn Oxytocin is only one of the three main hormones that is going to be analyzed and explained to audience. The other two hormones are dopamine a hormone that is the feel good hormone and also the hormone that can get you naturally addictive and vasopressin. The audience will have an open mind to the idea that romance is as much in their control as they believe it to be. However the hormones alone will not determine the lasting of a relationship. One cannot test the levels of oxytocin their partner has to see if the relationship will last.

What they will learn The research is not on how to make your relationship last but explains that there are these hormones that can cause you to bond with a person for long time and being promiscuous can damage the balance of the hormones. The dopamine will take over the vasopressin causing the person to be addicted and disability to be faithful. Abusing the hormones can lead to suicide and depression.

How Will The research be conducted The paper will be analyzing and explaining to the reader how the hormones work to excite relationships and then turn them into a long lasting relationship.

What kind of sources are used There is an even amount of sources between published books and articles and web pages.

What will not be included Reasons why other animals such as dolphins or certain birds mate fore life. The paper will not be explaining how to know if the relationship will last.

Main sources The Psychophysiology of Sex by Erick Janssen

Main sources The Psychophysiology of Sex by Erick Janssen The Female Brain by Louann Brizendine, M.D.

How will the sources be useful The Psychophysiology of Sex sources will be useful to the topic because it has been written by a psychologist studying the relation with the chemical side of hormones with the Physiology side of human nature. The female Brain has a more in-depth study on female hormone therapy, and sexual orientation. The two sources separately will only cover parts of the topic but together they linkup and create a net in which the research paper topic lies.
