4. It’s hard to know where to start – how much intervention and support is too much? At what point do we trust that people understand the appropriate way to deal with one another in these situations?
What can you do?
It’s not an easy task…

But you can help people (Children, adults too) feel safe, supported and trusted
People may never develop the skill set to deal with the potential threats that are in the world today

7. Control and Support Some strategies
Take responsibility of your children's devices at least an hour before bed
Encourage sharing of access codes to devices within the family
Establish ‘no digital use’ time
Establish ‘no digital use’ zones
Develop firm routines with devices
Encourage conversation
Ask about new apps
Talk about stories in the media
Ask how situations could be avoided
Discuss the permanence of posting on the web
Raise awareness of the risks of sharing seemingly innocent images
Help Children (adults too!) to use other methods of communication

8. If we encourage open and honest dialogue, support curiosity and join in the journey
We might help people to develop their own ‘Stranger Danger’ mind set or to find a ‘Green Cross Code’ that keeps users safe, happy and confident
