2. 5 steps to making a complete graph..
1. Title your graph (title tells the independent variable and dependent variable)
2. Determine your I.V. and D.V.
Independent variable (I.V.)- what the experiementer changes (maniplates)
Dependent variable (D.V.)-what’s being measured
3. Draw axis
Scale the graph and label X and Y axis
4. Plot data
5. Make a conclusion statement

3. Scaling..
Scales are number patters that you will use when labeling your graph
Examples:
2, 4, 6, 8, 10..
5, 10, 15, 20..
10, 20, 30, 40..

4. Labeling..
You must label your graph in order for it to be properly read or understood.
Without proper labeling, it would just be bars or lines on a page.
The I.V. is always labeled on the X axis
The D.V. is always located on the Y axis!

A researcher is trying to show the percentage of pine trees in a forest compared to 3 other species.
A census worker is trying to explain growth trends in the human population over the next 50 years.
A game warden is explaining deer population numbers to hunters from Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
