2. Frida Kahlo ( )
One of the best known Mexican painters, she was famous for doing self-portraits.
When she was 6 years old, she contracted polio.
When she was 18 she was in a devastating accident in which she broke her spinal column, her clavicle, ribs, pelvis, 11 fractures in her right leg, a crushed and dislocated right foot and dislocated her shoulder. An iron handrail pierced her abdomen and uterus which damaged her ability to ever have children.
